Music
A passion: a creative outlet
Growing up, I was constantly tuned into music, whether on the radio or watching the nonstop music videos on MTV. Experiencing the rise of grunge and hip-hop shaped my tastes and allowed me to see how vital music is. The vibe, the story, and the way the right song at the right moment can shape your day.
At 18, I purchased my first instrument after finding my footing with my work. It was a 1970s Gibson RD Artist that was heavy and extremely uncomfortable to play, but it would open the door to a new direction in my life like I never imagined. Immediately, I found myself playing in bands and pushing my creativity in ways I had never done before.
Over the years, I have been involved in multiple bands, gaining experience touring, playing festivals, and working on my skills as a bassist, songwriter, engineer, and mixer. Currently, I'm a member of the band LOKELLA, where I'm lucky enough to work with my lifetime partner, Jennifer.
Though I decided to step away from performing in the spring of 2023, I still have the itch to write, produce, mix, and ultimately put some music out into the ether for anyone who happens to give it a listen. It's an important creative outlet for me.
